Webinars are usually the most expensive way to build a list of people who will never buy from you.
But they don’t have to be. Search Engine Journal’s Heather Campbell runs a webinar engine that has generated 350,000+ leads. She outlined a 5-phase system for running 50+ webinars a year with a tiny team that actually generates pipeline, not just attendance.
Here is the system.
Phase 1: Filter with “Outcome Titles”. Vague titles attract vague intent. Create a title focused entirely on the outcome your audience desires. This pre-qualifies the room-people without that problem self-select out, dramatically improving the quality of the list.
Phase 2: The automated infrastructure. Stop babysitting CSV exports. Your webinar platform must have native, bi-directional CRM integration that automatically pushes engagement scores and attendee actions directly to your sales team in real-time.
Phase 3: Distribute to qualify. Promotion isn’t about getting maximum eyeballs, it’s about filtering for intent. Use channels that pull the specific leads your sales team actually wants.
Phase 4: Teach, don’t pitch. Warm the audience up by actually delivering value during the live session. Every poll response and Q&A question is behavioral data your sales team will use later.
